What should I wear to class?
It is most important that your dancer is comfortable in their clothing for class
What is required above all else is the correct shoes for that genre (Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Tennis Shoes)
Clothing recommendations are listed in the What to Wear? section of our website
How can I purchase dancewear/shoes?
In the studio we have a variety of extra attire that can be purchased
We also have a bin of used shoes that are FREE for those that can find their size :)
Feel free to donate to that pile as your dancer grows out of their shoes
What is the missed class policy?
We offer up to 3 make-up classes per class per session
For a make-up class you may pick any available class that is the same time length and age range as your dancers current class
Dancers are unable to do make-ups in full occupancy classes
Make-up classes do not roll over between sessions
No make-up classes can be scheduled during the final two weeks of Fall & Winter/Spring session
During the winter and spring we do not encourage make-ups past March 1st as they will be learning their recital dances and could fall behind in their class and be confused
YES!
Many of our wonderful faculty members love to work with dancers outside of our regular class schedule
If you are interested in a private lesson, please fill out a request form linked in the pink box!
Can I do a Drop-In class?
YES!
Our new dancers are allowed one FREE Drop-In class
Returning dancers can Drop-In a class for $15
If you are interested head on over the the Drop-In section of our website
Level 1 is for dancers with little to no experience in a style of dance
This is designed as an introductory course
We work on technique and learning the names of different movements
Level 2 is for intermediate to advanced dancers
If you have been taking a class for more than one session we recommend moving up to level two
This includes having experience at another facility
If the level you choose does not seem like the right fit, we can always adjust during the first few weeks of classes!
Can I watch my dancer?
OF COURSE!!
For all classes 3yrs+ the observation window curtain will remain closed until the last 10 minutes of class
We find having the curtain closed allows the dancers to stay focused :)
OF COURSE!!

All About Dance Bloomington is committed to the safety and privacy of its teachers, students, and families. Our policies and your cooperation help keep All About Dance Bloomington a safe and fun environment for everyone.
All About Dance does not share personal or payment information collected during the registration process, classes, or performances without consent from an adult or guardian of a minor. All About Dance uses information provided by the student, guardian of the student, or the instructor for internal operations, class management, communication regarding students or instructors, and performance planning.
All About Dance will occasionally capture photo and video footage during classes, performances, and events. This footage will be used strictly for promotional purposes by All About Dance or by photographers and videographers contracted and supervised by All About Dance staff to create promotional materials. Students or their guardians have the opportunity to give or deny consent for use of images at the time of registration. Please notify the front desk promptly should you want to remove your student from photo/video participation.
Please see our social media Policy (below) regarding social media use of video footage or photos captured by any party not representing All About Dance.
Please remember that your anonymity on social media is never guaranteed and to exercise particular caution when posts, images, or videos identify children in your care.
Remain mindful that your behavior on social media remains the same as the All About Dance code of conduct.
Any comments or posts perceived to be obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or hateful towards AAD’s staff, students or families may subject the owner/dancer to disciplinary or legal action.
Should you wish to engage on social media while identifying as a studio dancer, parent volunteer or employee, you may only do so with integrity, respect, and adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies set forth by the studio. Any content revealing or referring to sensitive studio information is not allowed to be shared online.
Intellectual property laws (for example, costume design and choreography), must be observed by all studio patrons when posting online. This includes but is not limited to any studio forms, handbooks, and class materials shared with you.
Choreography belongs to the person developing and teaching it. Therefore, rights should be given to that person if their work is posted.
Do not share any choreography without permission from Miss Kim or the choreographer.
Do not share photos/videos of costumes without permission from Miss Kim or the instructor.
While affiliated with our studio, (for example, images of your child in AAD team apparel) we will not tolerate any posts that are racially, sexually, physically or religiously offensive.
All matters pertaining directly to the studio – whether it be fees, scheduling, placements or performance opportunities – may not be communicated via social media. We have an open door policy and encourage all communication, complaints, and feedback to be communicated to Miss Kim directly.
Photos or videos taken from classes or rehearsals may NOT be posted online without permission from Miss Kim or the instructor teaching the class.
You may not post photographs / videos that feature AAD’s dancers other than your own online without the written/proven consent of their parent/guardian.
Identifying information of any featured minors – including names, ages or location – must be removed when posting on social media.
Inappropriate, intimidating or bullying social media posts, texts, pictures, or interactions occurring during studio time, relating to studio events, or directed to, or by students or parents will not be tolerated and violators will be subjected to suspension or expulsion as determined by All About Dance Administration. Any and all incidents should be reported immediately to Miss Kim or any employee at All About Dance.
At All About Dance Bloomington, we offer what is considered a controlled observation environment. This allows instructors to manage the class without constant interruptions while still providing opportunities for parents to see their child's progress. Frequent entry and exit can disrupt the class and detract from the learning experience of your child and others in the classroom. Our classrooms will be closed to viewing and visitors until the last 10 minutes of class when the instructors will open the curtains for viewing.
All About Dance always welcomes parents and guardians to wait in our lobby while their children attend class. All visitors will be asked to remain in the lobby or outside the building and not in the studios where children are attending class.
We host Parent Observation Week and Bring a Friend to Dance Week where we do have a high volume of outside visitors in our studio. We ask that families be mindful of this when attending or when having other family members attend.
We strive for a safe and welcoming environment for everyone here at All About Dance Bloomington. Should you ever have any questions, please reach out to a staff member or Miss Kim for assistance.
